A new commercial activity zone will emerge in the Pyrénées-Orientales. This Monday, December 16, 2024, the Albères Côte Vermeille Illibéris community of communes launched a public market for a project Argelès-sur-Mernear Perpignan.
The future area will extend over 2 hectares
Named “ Porte des Albères“, this area will extend over 2,2 hectaresalong the D914a still very busy road which connects Perpignan to Argelès-sur-Mer.
On this significant space, the community will be able to “respond to requests for establishment in the territory” and accommodate “new activities, job creators and attractivein complementarity with the activities already present in the territory”.
No brand names have been filtered yet. We still know that the future premises should occupy a floor area of approximately 5 800 m².
Launched this Monday, December 16, the public market concerns the creation of wet (water, wastewater, etc.) and dry (electricity, gas, etc.) networks, roads (a roundabout, a cycle path and 290 parking spaces will be created) and green spaces (83 trees are notably planned). Interested companies have until January 24, 2025 to make themselves known. The work is expected to last eight months.
Another major project in the pipeline
On the other side of the D914, at lieu-called Camp del Caballthe community of communes also wishes to create a new activity zone on a plot of land 25 hectares . For the moment, the face of this future economic activity park is not completely drawn. In the market and economic programming study carried out by the community of municipalities, three hypotheses are on the table.
The first consists of “doing better than the current Grones area (where we find Intermarché, Weldom, Sport 2000, etc.), editor’s note), without changing the positioning philosophy, but with much more qualitative and modern facilities.”
The second option is to make a “productive shift”, by creating “a park dedicated to supporting industrial and artisanal projects with a strong productive and technological dimension. Craftsmanship remains a target, but on targeted projects (eco-construction, catering trades).”
Finally, the other option is to focus on “a park which aims to bring out solutions (productive, services) useful to territorial issues, while generating activity and jobs”.
To refine this project that has been in the pipeline for several years, the community will be able to rely on feedback from aconsultationlaunched with the residents. It is open until December 20 and available here.
