On December 17, 1994, Céline Dion and René Angélil were married.
A little more than a year after making their romantic relationship public, the biggest star in the history of Quebec and her manager who, over time, became her lover said yes to each other before God and men.

It was in the Notre-Dame basilica in Montreal that the grandiose ceremony was held, under the gaze of the artistic elite of the time.
For the occasion, Céline wore a 7-pound tiara made of 2,000 Swarovski crystals.
She wore a wedding dress by Mirella and Steve Gentile that took 1,000 hours to complete and featured a 20-foot-long train.
Céline’s eight sisters were called upon to support the train as it entered the church.

“I wanted a fairy dress, a dream dress,” she told journalists on her wedding day. I am paying the price today because it is very heavy.”
