After Gard and Lozère, it is Ardèche which sees orange. This Wednesday, October 16, the Ardèche department was placed on orange vigilance, by Météo-France, for “rain-flooding” – second time in eight days – and on yellow vigilance for “floods”, particularly on the river courses. water from Ouvèze-Eyrieux, Ardèche upstream and Baume-Chassezac, from 9 p.m.
This Cévennes episode, classic in autumn, nevertheless requires special attention. Significant amounts of rain are expected: 100 to 150 mm in the Ardèche Cévennes, or even more than 200 mm locally. Lower Ardèche and the Rhône valley, on the other hand, will be less impacted. Of the stormy rains, coming up from the Mediterranean, will be intense, especially on Wednesday night. This Thursday, October 1780 to 120mm of additional rain is expected in the Cévennes, or even 150 to 200mm locally, which brings the totals in 48 hours to more than 350mm in places. These disturbances will last two days, until Friday October 18.
