“It’s not a question of age,” at 59, the oldest Rosario Murcia-Gangloff aims for the Los Angeles Games

Having come in sixth in the T12 marathon, reserved for the visually impaired, Rosario Murcia-Gangloff was overcome by the effort at the finish, and almost unable to cross the finish line. The oldest member of the French delegation, the 59-year-old athlete has not said her last word, however, and is now aiming for Los Angeles in 2028: “I will first recover but it is very possible. It is even planned”she confided to the microphone of France Télé.

Michel Barnier present for the closing ceremony

Appointed by Emmanuel Macron as Prime Minister on Thursday, Michel Barnier will be at the Stade de France on Sunday evening to attend the closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games. Women’s Marathon T12: The oldest member of the French delegation, Rosario Gangloff, finishes sixth to a standing ovation from the crowd

32 years ago, in 1992, Rosario Gangloff (59 years old) was selected for the 10,000m in Barcelona. This Sunday in Paris, the oldest member of the French delegation – who is visually impaired – completed the T12 marathon with a sixth place and a time of 3h13”50.

At the end of the effort and despite a final fall on the last climb, Rosario Dangloff managed to cross the finish line with her guide, well pushed by the public at Les Invalides.
