The arrival of Michel Barnier at Matignon has caused an unexpected last-minute upheaval in Daily. Yann Barthès decided to urgently review the first minutes of his show to celebrate a historic act. Michel Barnier is the first Savoyard – the region where the TMC host comes from – to be appointed to the post of head of government.

“That’s it, we’re here! We had to wait 51 days, we finally have a Prime Minister! And not just any Prime Minister! For many of us, he is Prime Minister, but above all he is from Savoy!”exclaimed the presenter who opened his 9th season of Daily on apologies. He then got up from his seat and brandished skis, all while the flag of Savoy appeared behind him.

The Savoyard anthem now opens Daily every evening

As the anthem of his native region resounded on the set, Yann Barthès chanted: For the first time in history, a Savoyard is at Matignon!
