DéCO – Decorating and organizing the inside of your refrigerator has gone viral on social media
Put flowers next to the cheese, a photo frame between the yogurts and vegetables or a candle in the middle of the eggs… “Fridgescaping” (contraction of “fridge” for “frigo” and “escaping” for “s’évasion”) has been a hit on social networks for several months.
Many Internet users have decided to decorate the inside of their refrigerator in order to “embellish” the food, and make people want to cook. This trend, as viral as it is absurd, has accumulated millions of views, particularly on the TikTok platform.
Internet users even go so far as to find a theme for their fridge
It was an American design consultant, Kathy Perdue, who first described the concept in 2011. She advised, in a blog post, to keep your food “in pretty bowls and containers” and to organize them in such a way as to have a harmonious whole when you open the door. A concept that has seduced many influencers who have popularized this trend.
On Tiktok, hundreds of thousands of refrigerator decoration videos have appeared in recent weeks. Influencer Lynzi Judish decided to “theme” her refrigerator and decorate it like a Hobbit or even on the theme of the Netflix series (…) - 20minutes
