he wins $10,000… which Tim Hortons refuses to pay

The Roll Up to Win contest in full swing at Tim Hortons restaurants isn’t just making people happy. It even left a bitter taste to a consumer in the Southeast.

Luc Massé is a regular at the Tim Hortons café. On Monday morning, as the Shediac paramedic was on his way to work, he bought a coffee at the restaurant on Harrisville Boulevard in Moncton and used the Tim Horton app as part of the Roll Up to Win promotion.

“I won a prize of $10,000 in the form of an American Express prepaid card,” says the coffee consumer. I immediately took a screenshot of the award to show my wife. I called her, then I went back to the app to claim my prize,” he explains.

It was then that things went wrong for him.

“While I was claiming the prize, my Tim Hortons application crashed,” continues the fallen winner. When I reopened the app, my price was gone.”

The restaurant manager – who could do nothing for him – provided him with an email address to contact the company. Luc Massé claims to have contacted the Tim Hortons support team. “They said they wouldn’t honor the price,” he said.

Luc Massé describes the situation as scandalous.

“How can a multi-million dollar company throw $10,000 in front of hard workers like me and not have to deliver when they win?” he wonders.

We tried to get an explanation from Tim Hortons, but after a firm hour of waiting on the phone with no answer, we gave up.
