The Brandon Sports and Cultural Center will undertake a renovation project worth a total of $7.6 million from April 15 to September 15, 2025.
This project aims to modernize the center’s infrastructure to better meet the growing needs of the community.
Funding is provided thanks to government assistance of approximately $4.9 million distributed equitably between the federal government and the provincial government, as part of the Financial Assistance Program for Recreational and Sports Infrastructure, administered by the Ministry of ‘Quebec education.
The MRC of D’Autray also contributes through its Rural Communities Assistance Program with support totaling $144,339.
Finally, additional financial support will come from the Table des préfets de Lanaudière, offering a maximum of $250,000 per year over two years.
List of planned works:
- Complete renovation of the rink, including the concrete slab, piping, bands and protective nets
- Modernization of lighting (LED), ventilation system and air conditioning in the gymnasium
- Improved accessibility with new doors adapted for people with reduced mobility
- Repair of the swimming pool roof and modernization of filtration equipment;
- Automation of mechanical and control systems;
- Exterior repairs and replacement of the rear cladding of the building;
- Updating security systems, including fire panel and access.
During the work, the Brandon Sports and Cultural Center will be closed, with the exception of the gym which will remain accessible at all times, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
