Seven weeks after the first revelations, Abbé Pierre – who died in 2007 – is targeted by 17 new testimonies accusing him of sexual violence, which were allegedly committed between the 1950s and the 2000s, according to a report by the specialist firm Egaé. As a reminder, last July six women reported acts that could be described as sexual assaults, which were allegedly committed by the founder of Emmaüs. Another reported sexist remarks and disturbing solicitations.
And then there was an 8th accusation. Following these revelations, and as Le Parisien recalls, the Emmaüs organization had instructed the specialist firm Egaé to set up a listening device. Result: “The group said it had received around fifty emails and twenty telephone messages as of September 2.“And therefore notably gathered”17 testimonies – 12 direct and 5 indirect – concerning sexual violence committed against minor and adult women.”
These new testimonies report that contacts “unsolicited on breasts“, of “forced kisses“, of “forced blowjobs“, of “repeated sexual contact on a vulnerable person”, “repeated acts of sexual penetration“, or even “sexual contact with a child.“
