Nearly 250 firefighters have been working in Menznau (LU) since Wednesday following a spectacular fire in a warehouse. No injuries are reported.

A wood warehouse caught fire early Wednesday morning in Menznau (LU). According to witnesses who filmed the scene, flames several meters high escaped from the site of the Swiss Krono factory, specializing in wood. The roof of a building collapsed and explosions were heard.

The Lucerne police confirmed that an intervention was underway. No one has been injured so far, according to a spokesperson. Public transport in the area was disrupted. Rail traffic on the Langenthal-Wolhusen line was temporarily interrupted between Willisau and Wolhusen, write the SBB on their site. The line was able to be reopened, but delays are to be expected.

A fire official from the canton of Lucerne told local media that the hangar affected by the fire is 10,000 to 12,000 square meters in size. He confirmed that no one has been injured so far. A total of 240 firefighters were mobilized from 3:30 a.m.
