TVA Nouvelles has learned that Laval police arrested an alleged pedophile on Tuesday in a spectacular operation in the Val-des-Arbres district and discovered 330 videos of child pornography on the 48-year-old suspect’s computer.

Dominique Bruderer, a man with no criminal record, had to answer a few charges in the afternoon at the courthouse. The DPCP opposed his release. During the search, the investigators also found objects related to children’s fantasy.

Laval police intervened on boulevard Saint-Martin Est, around 6 a.m., in the Val-des-Arbres district in order to arrest the 48-year-old man, Dominique Bruderer, an alleged collector of photos of ‘children.
And the intervention of the police made noise, while a window of the apartment building was shattered. An officer fired tear gas into the apartment of the suspect who was escorted outside minutes later for questioning.

“We were woken up by a big boom with the sound of windows breaking,” a lady told TVA Nouvelles.
“I hear like a gunshot and a shattered window, but a really really loud noise. I jumped up, I went to my bedroom window, my window was open, I looked down, I saw two policemen with submachine guns in their hands,” said another neighbor, while the police informed him of the progress of the police intervention.

In the afternoon at the Laval courthouse, Dominique Bruderer was formally charged with having possessed child pornography between May 16, 2020 and March 3, 2023. Between June 1, 2022 and March 3, 2023, Bruderer allegedly accessed and then distributed child pornography.
He was a janitor in the apartment building. According to what can be found on his social networks, the Laval resident worked in the beauty industry.
A rather discreet man who rarely went out, said a neighbor.
“I saw police officers coming out with computers. I figured there must be something to do with it [la pornographie juvénile].”
He will remain detained until his next appearance.
