Sarah Jollen-Farlith, the long
Sabine waspieser editor, 160 pp., 18 € (ebook: 13.99 €).
We understand it very quickly: the pink narrator is locked up in a wooded room attached to a lanyard. For what ? We must listen to the story of this woman, the obvious meeting with her lover Camil at the age of 6, their reunion in Lausanne many years later, the unexpected birth of their daughter Anna and the drama that will put her on the ground. As in his beautiful first novel, His favorite, The Swiss writer Sarah Jollien-Fardel camps a story in the mountains of Valais, with her rustic decor and family tributaries. The darling grandmother and Costade holds the coffee with the father, the mother, who often had “the animals”, dies, the brother is moving away. Rose reconstitutes, of its strange captivity, and with a tender affection, a blessed universe, sometimes painful. The author manages to reverse the idea that can be made of violence and cruelty, and in good bookseller, imagines a soothing character who reads through the doors. F.Rl
Letter
Claude Simon, “My writer's work does not allow any concessions to me”. Letter to Federico Mayor
Presentation of Mireille Calle-Gruber. Les Éditions du chemin de rail, 32 pp., € 11.
Nobel Prize 1985, Claude Simon went to the USSR the following year to the invitation of the writer Kyrgyz Tchinguiz Aïtmatov, a close to Gorbachev, for an international forum intended to think “To the objectives of humanity in the third millennium on a global scale”. Among the participants, James Baldwin, Yachar Kemal, Arthur Miller, the photographer Inge Morath, the actor Peter Ustinov and the future general manager of UNESCO, the biologist Federico Mayor. The Issyk-Kul Forum, so named because it takes place by Lake Issyk in Kyrgyzstan, is so disappointing that Claude Simon refuses to sign the final declaration, taxed “puerility”, of “Creuse emphasis”, and published in 1988 the novel l’Invitation (Midnight), a devastating satire. Meanwhile, in November 1986, Federico Mayor sent a amended French version that Claude Simon returns signed, and accompanied by a letter reproduced here for the first time. He says his faith in creation. “I expected what the question be asked and discussed:” What are its function, what is its status in society, its powers, what role can it play in the fight against “Obscurantism, tyranny and exploitation” “?”, These terms appearing in the forum declaration of intention. He takes the opportunity to evoke his situation of «marginal» : “I am rejected almost unanimously in my own country.” Cl.D.
History
Daniel Cordier, Retro-chaos. Memoirs
Gallimard “witnesses”, 370 pp., € 22 (ebook: € 15.99).
That they appreciated the historical work of Daniel Cordier (starting with the Catacombs Republic) or have looked into his autobiographies (Aka Caracalla Above all), familiar readers of the off -series route of the former secretary of Jean Moulin will be able to go their way. For the others, his memoirs will offer an alert story of a man who has known three lives. That of a burning free Frenchman to fight who, for lack of military assignment, agrees to be parachuted to style the secretariat of the delegate of General de Gaulle and attended the first lodges at the foundation of the National Council of Resistance; That of a neophyte who, sovereignly contemplating contemporary art, becomes a merchant of paintings and the agent of Dubuffet – not smoothly with this rough painter; That of an actor of the Resistance who, revulted by the attacks against Jean Moulin by Henri Frenay, the leader of the Combat movement, turns into a historian to defend his former boss with the weapons of science. A magnificent testimony on a commitment under the sign of ardor and passion. Ow

Isabelle Bedouet, Impostors. Landru, Petiot, Romand and others
Imago, 192 pp., 20 €.
If we made an inventory of all the “bad things” brought by the Internet and the (a) social networks, we would cite the proliferation of scams, forchartes, prevarications and other stupid traps. Anonymity, acting “remotely”, contactless, the subtleties of digital technology and the expansion of credulity have helped well. Of course, usurpers, threads and dupeurs have always existed: there is neither place nor era where individuals have been smashed to “Take false identities,” crooked “titles, and invent stories in order to extract from others” objects “, such as goods, power or even love”, or even pushed to the crime. Some have become famous, such as Landru, the “Bluebeard of Gambais”, Marcel Petiot, the man with a thousand faces, capable of finding his prey among those who fled Nazi persecutions, or the false doctor Jean-Claude Romand , which, “Taken in the gear of the lie, will go so far as to commit a five -time murder”. What are the personalities of these impostors? Do they come from psychosis? Is “perversion” is enough to explain their abuses? Psychotherapist – We already owe him The crime of the papin sisters (Imago, 2016) -, Isabelle Bedouet here analyzes the social, intellectual, emotional and psychological trajectory of seven impostors (Landru, Petiot, Romand, Léa Papin, Paul Grappe, “The transvestite of the Roaring Twenties”, Gilbert Bourdin, the “Divine world renovator”, and the anonymous Gabriel, “Mid-angel mid-demo”), visit them “Darkstops” of their lives, and discovers there “Unwelcome, enigmatic universe, more surprising than each other”. Philosophy
FLORA Bastiani, Critical care philosophy
The hermeneutic circle, 258 pp., 23 €.
The subtitles explicitly known as the object of the book: “Thinking about the relationship in resuscitation, intensive care and in the levy of organs”. And this object is obviously as complex as they are precious, because it is a question of saying what a human being is, what a person is, what a subject is – at the very moment when, in irremedable illness, the artificial coma, sedation, proximity to death, we are “neat” And where the characteristics that define life and existence seem to disappear. Philosopher, lecturer at the University of Toulouse-Jean Jaurès, member of the office of the hospital ethics committee of the Toulouse CHU, specialist in the thoughts of Levinas and Maldiney, Flora Bastiani, in this work between “Documentary and theoretical analysis” (where four interviews are with nurses from various health services, resuscitation, trauma, intensive care, etc.), proposes to enter “In the nursing universe with a philosophical look”, by continuing to develop a “Relationship microphilosophy”, centered on theACTE care, on the theorization of such an act, systematic, epistemological, from which a “Nursing science”, and “Knowing specific to care”, distinct from medical knowledge. What is “The caregiver brings out, by his act of care” ? By building a “Intermediate sphere” where others can “Coming shelter”,make their place, “Caregivers create a welcome, a set, enveloping the suffering, not to mitigate them, but to allow the existence not to resolve it”.
