During this ceremony, ten personalities and associations engaged in Islamic education in Senegal were distinguished, including the eminent professor Mamadou Sangharé, former director of higher education.

Senegal, founding member of the world Islamic League, has always played an active role in its initiatives. The late Cheikh Ibrahim Niass had represented the country at the Constitutive Congress of the League, marking the beginning of a strong relationship with this organization.
