The Turkish ambassador in Rabat announced on the X platform the visit to Morocco of a large delegation from the Aselsan company, known for the production of communication and electronic defense systems. The diplomat remained discreet about the objective of the Turkish mission in the kingdom.

However, in August 2022, the Tactical Report site, specialist in defense issues, revealed that “Morocco would be in talks with the Turkish defense company Aselsan for the acquisition of a combat management system (CMS) of new generation. The CMS should play a major role in allowing Rabat to reorganize its coastal defense system.

Since September 2021, the Royal Armed Forces have had a fleet of Bayraktar TB2 drones, produced by the Turkish company Baykar, which has proven itself in operations against the Polisario. The Moroccan army plans to equip itself with the Akinci model, a high-altitude unmanned aircraft produced by the same firm, headed by Selçuk Bayraktar, son-in-law of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
