Mbour, Jan 24 (APS) – The Minister of Employment, Labor and Relations with Institutions, Abass Fall, declared that the promotion of employment will be at the heart of the activities of his department, during the year 2025.
“The promotion of employment will be at the heart of our activities for the year 2025. Because everyone knows that the employment problem is extremely serious in Senegal,” he said while presiding on Thursday in Saly (Mbour), the review of the performance programs of its ministry, for the year 2024.
He assured that in view of this context, “all the policies” that his ministry will put in place “will be cross-cutting policies for the promotion of employment”.
Mr. Fall indicated, on this occasion, that Qatar, a Gulf country where he recently visited, has granted the government of Senegal a batch of a thousand jobs in the fields of science, technology and logistics.
“This will be a first test which will allow us to bring, at least, 1,000 workers to Qatar in good conditions,” he said.
-According to him, this exercise should make it possible to “evaluate what has been done in terms of management globally and to see the prospects for improving performance programs”.
He considers that “extraordinary work has been done at the level of the Ministry of Employment, Labor and Relations with Institutions, despite very meager resources”.
