DAKAR, Jan 23 (APS) – The Ministry of Health and Social Action assured, on Friday, that Senegal was up to date with its annual contributions to the World Health Organization (WHO).

The text specifies that ‘these amounts in question were fully paid by transfer of the public treasury, respectively on May 6, 2024 for an amount of 55,937,400 CFA francs, and May 31, 2024 for an amount of 49,662,726 FCFA’ ‘ .
The amounts mentioned correspond to the statutory contribution of Senegal to the WHO budget for periods 2020-2023 and 2024-2025, adds the same source.

-According to the MSAS, the payment of annual contributions from Senegal also allowed him to present a candidate in the August 2024 elections for the post of regional director for the Africa region of the WHO.
This press release follows that of the Ministry of African Integration and Foreign Affairs (Miaae), which in turn made it possible for information compared to the information relayed in the press concerning an alleged debt of Senegal towards the World Health Organization (WHO).
