Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. The funeral of little Emile will ultimately not take place in Haut-Vernet

We learned this Thursday, January 23, from Me Triomphe, the lawyer for little Emile's parents, that the latter would ultimately not be buried in the Haut-Vernet cemetery. Faced with the controversy which has emerged over the past few days in the village over the fact that the allocation of a family vault to later accommodate one's parents had to be debated in the municipal council, and that as it stands, only an individual concession was granted to the little boy, his parents decided not to have him buried in Haut-Vernet.

“Although they are bruised by it, Marie and Colomban Soleil do not intend to fight against this decision and the statements made in the press showing that they are not welcome. They hope that Emile can be buried and rest in peace and serenity. They therefore requested and immediately obtained on January 22, 2025 a perpetual family concession at Bouilladisse in Bouches-du-Rhône where they live and where Emile grew up. It is therefore at Bouilladisse that Emile will rest in a family vault that the heart and humanity commanded and that the law permitted,” explains the lawyer in a press release.
