Ghana’s decision to suspend its diplomatic relations with the so-called “SADR” bodes well for the development and intensification of relations between Rabat and Accra, said the Director General of the Ghana Press Agency (GNA), Albert Kofi Owusu.
The Kingdom of Morocco is a “leading and united country” at the continental level, particularly with regard to development cooperation, and Ghana’s new position comes at the right time to boost bilateral relations, Mr. Owusu explained in an interview with MAP, on the sidelines of the work of the 8th General Assembly of the Atlantic Federation of African Press Agencies (FAAPA), held Wednesday and Thursday in Salé.
In the opinion of Mr. Owusu, this new position of Accra further strengthens the ties between the two countries, thus consolidating their partnership which extends to many areas, notably the mining sector, agriculture, higher education , engineering and energy production.
The 8th FAAPA General Assembly brings together the Managing Directors of several African news agencies, alongside media and health experts, as well as eminent personalities from various backgrounds, culminating in the 10 years of creation of the FAAPA, a space for reflection on the future of African press agencies and on the role they must play in the 21st century, in their respective diversities and specificities.
-Placed under the theme “African press agencies, a lever for promoting the health sovereignty of the continent”, this conclave sheds light on the ways of promoting and strengthening African health sovereignty in order to better cope with future shocks. .
