The four suspects, three men and a woman, were arrested around 5:30 a.m. by investigators from the Quebec Police Service (SPVQ) and the Tactical Intervention Group.
The individuals are said to have committed drug trafficking offenses “in connection with violence between criminal groups.” They are believed to be members of the Blood Family Mafia criminal group.
One of the four suspects, aged 22, is currently detained. He should appear this afternoon at the Quebec courthouse for breach of probation.
The three others, aged 20 to 23, were released by summons.
30,500 tablets
As part of this operation, six searches were carried out in the Haute-ville, Sainte-Foy and Val-Bélair sectors.
-Investigators were able to seize a little more than 30,500 methamphetamine tablets, nearly a kg of cocaine, more than a kg of crystal meth, an air soft weapon and various narcotics used for trafficking. More than $30,000 in Canadian currency was also seized.
This intervention is part of the SPVQ’s strategy aimed at countering urban violence on its territory.
