170 years old, the Society of Horticulture, Arboriculture and Viticulture of Deux-Sèvres held its general meeting on Sunday January 12, 2025, in Niort.
Several events have been announced for the year at the Chey municipal farm: Sunday April 13 at 9 a.m., plant swap; Saturday April 19 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday April 20 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Spring in the gardens on the theme “40 years of the Plant Festival”; Sunday October 26, Autumn in the gardens. The Garden Meetings will take place on Friday June 6 (for schools), Saturday June 7 and Sunday June 8, at the allotment gardens and Quai Métayer, on the theme “stone gardens-garden stones”. In partnership with the City of Niort, natural garden workshops will take place at 37, quai Métayer on Saturdays 1is and March 15 at 2 p.m. The City of Niort will organize the Nature Festival in Port-Boinot and at Métayer Park.
The main objectives of the association with one hundred and eighty members, recognized as being of public utility, are to share knowledge, encourage the exchange of experiences in the field of plants, preserve biodiversity and natural resources in daily practices gardening. The association allows practical exchanges and experiences between gardeners.
