Two police interventions took place in Al Hoceima and Marrakech, on January 21 and 22, 2025. In Al Hoceima, an illegal immigration network was dismantled, while in Marrakech, a place of prostitution disguised as a massage center was been searched. Investigations are continuing to identify the accomplices.
On January 21 and 22, 2025, police forces in Morocco carried out two interventions, highlighting distinct criminal networks linked to illegal immigration and prostitution.
In Al Hoceima, on the morning of January 22, regional security agents arrested an individual suspected of being part of an organized criminal network responsible for illegal immigration and human trafficking. The suspect was apprehended in the act while preparing to orchestrate a clandestine crossing to Europe via sea routes. He was about to facilitate the illegal immigration of 11 candidates, including a minor. During his arrest, a sum of 150,000 dirhams was seized, probably resulting from illegal activities linked to this organization.

The suspect was placed in police custody, while the intercepted migrants are currently subject to a judicial investigation supervised by the public prosecutor’s office. The authorities are carrying out in-depth investigations in order to identify the other members of the network and dismantle this criminal organization. This raid is part of a broader framework of the fight against illegal immigration networks which exploit the vulnerabilities of migrants for illicit gains.
At the same time, in Marrakech, another police operation took place on January 21, targeting a prostitution network camouflaged under the guise of a massage establishment. Police arrested seven people, including six women, aged 22 to 39, for their alleged involvement in prostitution and corruption activities. The main suspect was arrested while running a commercial massage venue, which was actually a front for offering sexual services.
-During the search of the location, investigators seized several medical condoms, a digital recording device containing suspicious data on illicit activities, as well as a sum of money, presumably generated by this criminal activity. The seven individuals were placed in police custody, and a judicial investigation was opened under the supervision of the prosecution to determine the extent of this network and its possible links with other criminal activities.
These two interventions mark notable progress in the fight against criminal networks. Moroccan authorities continue to conduct investigations to eradicate these phenomena and guarantee public safety.
