Will Joris Gustave, the former rugby player, be elected Mister France?

If it does not have the same media coverage as the final of Miss France, the final of concours Mister France will still take place on Saturday January 25. Among the 30 finalists, Joris Gustaveformer solid player for three seasons in a sports section of Coulommiers, the Columérian Olympic rugby.

The latter, in fact, won the Île-de-France final at La Verrière in November. An election that has been taking place since 1984, at the end of a process regulated like clockwork with more than 70 candidates this year. Note that in 2022, the event took place in Montévrain.

Accomplished sportsman

Joris Gustave was one of the favorites. Its strengths? His impressive sporting CV: rugby player for 10 years including one season at national level, volleyball player, 5-a-side football player and bodybuilding practitioner. Well-built body and head to match, Joris Gustave is an industrial designer in an international company in Réau, in southern Seine-et-Marne.

“The physical goes hand in hand with the mental. In recent years, I have become interested and trained in this subject, I have chosen to defend the cause of mental health, particularly among young people. This competition, the number one male in France, is also a personal challenge,” confided Joris Gustave.

This tall, 28-year-old man measures 1.82 meters. His life has taken a different turn since the election: photo shoots, participation in the Christmas market and the Paris la Défense Telethon.

For the grand finale, he continues his physical sessions and works on his speech. Île-de-France won the national final in 2017, Joris Gustave hopes to be titled in a few days in Hauts-de-Seine.

Who can participate?

Does Joris Gustave’s journey appeal to you? What are the conditions to try your luck? Be at least 1.75 meters tall, be between 18 and 30 years old, single (not a father).

Candidates are selected based on several criteria. Once selected, it is the start of a marathon for the candidate, with photos, outings and learning the art of the parade. Fourteen candidates are selected for the final in Yvelines. There are six rating categories: parade in costume, in underwear, elocution, general knowledge, the public and the Mister France committee also award a rating, the jury being made up of seven people.

What does Mister France Île-de-France earn? A box and three treatment sessions, clothes including a tailor-made suit worth 1,500 euros. And a unique experience that the title offers throughout the year through meetings and cultural discoveries.

The final in Rueil-Malmaison will bring together 30 candidates at the André-Malraux theater on January 25. The winner will win trips, costumes and will participate in an international competition. It is possible to vote for Joris Gustave, he will have number 13 (until January 23 inclusive), via the Mister France website, the jury will be made up of eight personalities.
