The Restos du Cœur will soon set up a mobile distribution center in the department of Marne, also including the South-West Marne.
Serving rural areas
This itinerant service of the Restos du Cœur has the mission “ to provide food and social assistance closer to isolated and disadvantaged populations,” explains the association on social networks.
This system was created following an observation: the Marne department includes many rural areasmaking access to distribution centers difficult for people in precarious situations. This mobile service therefore aims to better serve these areas.
The Restos du Cœur also specify that tours adapted according to the needs identified on the ground will make it possible to “ respond to local emergencies and during critical periods, such as winter or economic crises”, while guaranteeing extensive coverage of the territory to reach “populations often left behind”.
-In addition to food distribution, this service promises to be a place of meeting and exchangebut also listening where “volunteers will offer support to identify specific needs and direct beneficiaries towards other available help services”, continues the association.
A test tour in the municipalities in February
The launch of this service is planned for March. However, a registration tour will be organized in FEBRUARY to allow families to make themselves known. The traveling center will then make its rounds throughout the department.
