For several days, time has seemed frozen in Lons-le-Saunier. The minutes no longer count on the clock of the eponymous tower and the time remains stuck on eight. A breakdown due… to a change in public lighting.
“The old public lighting system of the Commerce Street was commanded by six old cabinets. Except that, without us knowing it, the clock was also connected to this electrical system. So during the works allowing the switching to LED in the street, the six cabinets were replaced by only one more modern and allowing better operation across the entire system. And it was when the old electrical cabinets were removed that the clock has stopped. », Details the town hall.
-And to reassure chronophobes and other chronomaniacs: “It will be back in operation very soon. »
