Announced by President Emmanuel MACRON, during the Choose France 2023 summit in Versailles, Holosolisa project aimed at creating one of the largest factories in Europe for the production of photovoltaic panels and cells in Hambach, in Moselle, is more than ever on the right track.
Laurent TOUVET, prefect of Moselle, will sign the decree environmental authorization this Friday, January 24, 2025, while the mayor of Hambach, Daniel MULLER, will ratify the building permit of the future factory. This new key stage comes after the holding of 9 steering committees which brought together all the State services and operators concerned, as well as the institutional and socio-economic partners of the department.

Ultimately, Holosolis aims to produce 5 gigawatts of electricity per year, i.e. 10 million panels solar. Until 2,000 people could be employed on the site by 2027. Jan Jacob BOOM-WICHERS took stock of the progress of the project in our columns last November.
