Recently, the Association of Legion Alumni held its general assembly, under the presidency of Jean-Louis Catoire.

It is in their premises located within the CAFI, (City of reception of the French of Indochina) that the members of the Association of veterans of the Foreign Legion met.

A minute of silence, in memory of the legionnaires who died in 2024, preceded the opening of the debates, in the presence in particular of the vice-president and regional delegate of the greater South-West, General Clément Bollée, as well as the first magistrate of the commune , Pierre-Jean Pudal.

The president of the association, chief warrant officer Jean-Louis Tricoire, then presented the activities carried out during the past year. He also presented his forecasts for 2025, “with the culmination of the biennial congress which will be held in Castelnaudary, from June 13 to 15.”

Captain Charles Cazes, treasurer of the association, presented the financial report and the forecast for the coming year.

At the end of this general assembly, Sergeant Thierry Vilain received, from the hands of his peers, the diploma of honor from the Federation of Former Foreign Legion Societies, for service rendered within the departmental association of Lot-et-Garonne.

At the end of this morning, the councilor was also presented, by General Clément Bollée, with the medal of honor. “This is the highest award awarded by the Federation of Former Foreign Legion Societies,” said Chief Warrant Officer Jean-Louis Tricoire.

The AALE association (Amicale des Anciens de la Légion Étrangère), is made up of around fifty members, including 25 legionnaires, 17 veterans and 8 sympathizers.

“To be part of the Association of Veterans of the Foreign Legion, you must not only have been a Legionnaire but also hold the certificate of good conduct, which is issued to you at the end of your period within the Legion”, would like to clarify Jean-Louis Catoire.
