Parents or children, who has forgotten the Lumni lessons, these “great moments” of studious and televisual relaxation, during which school teachers re-explained through a screen the mathematical theorems, grammatical rules or major historical dates? This educational continuity, successfully inaugurated during the various confinements linked to the Covid-19 pandemic, and which led to France 4 being saved at the last minute from closure, is today supported by the group's Overseas division. audience. The overseas channel Mayotte la 1ère indicated at the end of last week that it had relaunched Lumni courses since January 13. Shaking up its programming, it devotes a daily slot to maths and French for primary (CE2, CM1 and CM2) and secondary (5ᵉ, 4ᵉ, 3ᵉ) students.

Because, five weeks after the devastating passage of Cyclone Chido, teachers in Mayotte are returning to school to prepare for the return, next week, of the 117,000 students in the department. However, in schools, colleges and high schools, the damage is still visible: 40% of school buildings have been damaged or partially destroyed, and others still house affected families. As mentioned by Élisabeth Borne, Minister of National Education, the return of students is planned “from January 27”, which means that not all children may have the chance to return to class next Monday. Out of 221 administrative schools, 39 are unable to operate, according to the rectorate. “This public service offer helps support families and helps all children who do not have access to the Internet to revise and continue to progress,” argues the public group.

Mayotte la 1ère will also program other types of educational content and videos from the Lumni educational platform. In addition to this antenna system, students and families with access to an Internet connection will be able to find on Lumni.fr all of the fundamental subjects taught at school, as well as different formats adapted to the level of students, including high school students.
