A vehicle fire broke out this morning on level R-1 of the underground car park at Place Foch, in Rodez. The fire, involving a car running on gasoline, prompted a significant mobilization of emergency services to avoid a larger disaster.
A large-scale intervention mobilizing several emergency centers
As soon as the alert was given, 22 firefighters were dispatched to the scene, accompanied by four specialized vehicles: two ton pump vans (FPT), a light intervention vehicle (VLI) and a rescue and assistance vehicle. to victims (VSAV). The emergency centers of Rodez, Bozouls, Rieupeyroux and the General Staff were called upon to respond to this critical situation.

Preventive evacuation of neighboring buildings
Faced with the density of toxic fumes generated by the disaster, 80 staff from the Prefecture and the Departmental Council, located in the immediate vicinity, were evacuated as a precaution. No injuries were reported.
