The Lozère cross-country championship took place in Saint-Rome-de-Tarn, in Aveyron, this Sunday January 12, 2025. The Lozériens shone during this competition, all categories combined. Results.

The Lozère cross-country championship took place in Saint-Rome-de-Tarn, in Aveyron, on Sunday January 12, 2025. The Lozère clubs joined forces with the Aveyron clubs in order to densify the pelotons and make this more competitive championship.

Lozériens and Aveyronnais were thus able to face each other before the quarter-final of the French cross-country championships, which will be organized on January 26 in Cagnac-les-Mines, near . This championship will bring together the clubs of the western zone.

The Saint-Rome-de-Tarn course presented many difficulties: hills, very steep descents, very slippery turns, profile difficulties accentuated by the frozen ground… The race lived up to its name. The Marvejols clubs – Marvejols Cross Marathon (MCM), Marvejols Athlétisme Gévaudan (MAG), Jeunesse Athlétisme Marvejolaise (JAM) – Salta Bartas de Chanac and Éveil Mendois were present for this Lozère gathering on Aveyron soil.

Results

MAG won the first two places in the girls' athletics school category, with Tasnime (1,130 meters in 4'58) and Ema Jacques (5'01). The young Leni Jacques won first place among the boys in the same category, in 4' 19”.

Junior category, 2,280 meters to go. The first two places go to Éveil mendois, with Laurie Coulomb (9' 31”) and Mélia Saint-Léger (10' 28”). Cassandre Ollier-Bout, from Salta Bartas, won third place (10' 32”). On the boys' side, Evan Parayre from Salta Bartas took the first step of the podium (8' 24”), followed closely by Lilian Théophile (9' 06”) from Éveil mendois, and Guilhem Cournac (9' 19” ) of the MAG.

The Lozériens also shone in the junior, cadet and junior men’s categories. In senior women, Anne Moulin stayed the course as she won the gold medal in the 5,650 meter event (22' 54”), followed by her teammates Adeline Roy (23' 56”) and Coline Eymard (27' 07”). For the senior men, the podium was only made up of members of Salta Bartas: Clément Barret, Mathias Rocheteau and Léo Bonnemayre. In the masters, the first places went to Isabelle Tarenne, from JAM, and Jérôme Jacques, from Salta Bartas.
