Torrey Pines chosen to host the Genesis Invitational

After announcing its decision to relocate the Genesis Invitational following the terrible fires that ravaged the Los Angeles region, the PGA Tour has decided to organize the third Signature Event of the season on the Torrey Pines course, where it is being played this week the Farmers Insurance Open.

The PGA Tour has chosen the course where the Frenchman will defend his title this week near San Diego to host the Genesis Invitational initially planned on the route of the Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles.

Less than a month after Farmers Insurance Openand after a hook by Pebble Beach et Phoenixthe players will once again put down their suitcases at Torrey Pines.

A decision motivated by the proximity between the two sites (barely more than 200 kilometers separate San Diego from Los Angeles) and which follows the announcement to relocate the Tiger Woods tournament after the terrible fires in Los Angeles reduced in ashes of thousands of homes in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood.
