Aimee Cutrona, new charge d’affaires at the United States Embassy in Morocco – Telquel.ma

Cutrona previously served as deputy chief of mission in Rabat, which she has held since July 2022. Prior to her assignment to Morocco, she served in Washington, DC, as deputy assistant secretary of state for Levantine affairs, as well as as director of the Office of Levantine Affairs at the State Department. She also served as Deputy Chief of Mission at the United States Embassy in Bahrain between 2016 and 2019.

Since joining the Foreign Service in 1999, she has served in various capacities in Addis Ababa, El Salvador, Qatar, Egypt, as well as in several offices in Washington. A graduate of Smith College, Aimee Cutrona also holds a master’s degree in international relations and conflict management from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
