Hearings continue in the Tabaski Ngom case. According to information, investigators from the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) are currently questioning the two drivers of former minister Moustapha Diop.
Tabaski Ngom, former Private Accounting Agent (ACP) at the Energy Sector Regulatory Commission (CRSE), is still in police custody. Accused of having embezzled more than 700 million CFA francs from the CRSE coffers, she finally confessed to the facts under pressure from DIC investigators.
The Treasury inspector revealed the scheme which allowed her to withdraw 766,740,000 FCFA from the BGFI and BCEAO accounts. In post only since April 15, 2024 at the CRSE, Tabaski explained that, to get out this sum, she issued checks to the order of her main accomplice, Mor Gueye, whom she directly designated, informs L’Observateur. Great news in her statements, the Treasury inspector admitted that, for each withdrawal in the name of her companies Sen Sétal and Webcom Sen, a commission was paid.
Tabaski, who allegedly revealed everything to investigators, swore to have given part of the money to former minister Moustapha Diop, who became a member of the 15th legislature, for his electoral campaign during the early legislative elections of 2024.
She also recognized that the total amount of damage is 766,774,000 FCFA, as contained in the letter-complaint filed by Moustapha Niane, president of the Energy Sector Regulatory Commission.
Sensing that she was going to be arrested, Tabaski Ngom had, in turn, filed a complaint against Minister Moustapha Diop and his sidekick Mor Gueye in Mbour. The latter, general manager of the companies Sen Sétal and Webcom Sen, was finally arrested.
Tabaski Ngom, Treasury inspector, already facing serious charges, is currently in police custody. She will be referred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Financial Judicial Unit (PJF) this week with potential charges of money laundering and fraud involving public funds.
