Traffic has returned to normal on the ring road. The damaged vehicles were evacuated and the traffic jams eased.

Since 6:30 this morning, large traffic jams, unusual for the time, have been blocking the Toulouse ring road. What is happening?

Collision between two heavy goods vehicles

From 6:30 a.m. this morning, the traffic jams started on the Rangueil ring road towards Purpan. According to Smart Bison, a collision between two heavy goods vehicles would be in question. Two lanes of the ring road were blocked. With traffic arriving later in the morning, this only increased the traffic jam.

New accident

During rush hour, traffic jams only increased on the Toulouse ring road with slowdowns along the entire ring road. A new accident occurred in the sense of Toulouse north towards Toulouse south involving four vehicles at the racecourse. One lane of the ring road is affected.

According to Vinci Autoroutes, it would be necessary an hour to cross Toulouse via the inner ring road.

Around nine o'clock, four accidents are still in progress on the Toulouse ring road even though rush hour has passed:

  • A heavy goods vehicle on one of the Toulouse North toll lanes.
  • A light vehicle on the A621 in the direction of airport towards Toulouse.
  • The two heavy goods vehicles which collided around 6:30 a.m.
  • And a two-wheeler, on the 62, in the Toulouse towards direction, at Union level.
