This year, the government should renew by decree aid for employers hiring apprentices. But it will be lower than the €6,000 before. From now on, the amount of aid will be €5,000 for the hiring of an apprentice for the first year of the contract alone for companies with fewer than 250 employees and €2,000 for the other years, without conditions. Those with 250 employees or more will be subject to the same conditions as today, particularly with regard to the proportion of work-study contracts in their total workforce.
Sector in tension
Furthermore, the amount of aid granted will be maintained at €6,000 for the hiring of apprentices with disabilities. Support that can be combined with the specific aid already intended for them.
“This drop in aid is not to our advantage” comments Théo Gourdin, who in 2021 in Prémery, created his roofing, carpentry and zinc work company. It has three employees including him. Added to this is an apprentice.
