The flagship event will take place in Metz, from March 29 to 31, 2025. The year will be marked by the organization of the Michelin guide ceremony, in Metz. An unmissable event in French gastronomy which will undoubtedly focus on a particularly dynamic sector in Moselle. For Christophe Thiriet, president of UMIH 57 (Union of hotel trades and industries), “this ceremony marks a major step for Moselle”. All stakeholders – chefs, establishments and training courses – are mobilized to make this meeting a success.
“A development strategy that is bearing fruit”
Impossible to go to Moselle without visiting one of the 2000 catering establishments offered by the department. Among all these establishments, 81 hold the MOSL Quality label which testifies to their excellence while reflecting the gastronomic know-how of the region. In 2024, 6 establishments obtained a star in the Michelin Guide: Toya, Le K, Auberge Saint-Walfried, Chez Michèle, L'Arnsbourg and Quai des Saveurs. The region now has 49 starred restaurants, a guarantee of the dynamism and quality of the sector. But it is not only the stars of the Michelin guide that give Moselle prestige in this area, we can also count the Bib Gourmand label which promotes the quality of affordable cuisine and from which 25 Moselle establishments benefit. Other distinctions can be mentioned such as the 3 Gault-et-Millau toques obtained by Dimofski (in Woefling-lès-Sarreguemines) and La Bonne Auberge (Stiring-Wendel) in 2024 or Avec Amour (in Terville) for its two Écotable macarons which is the first establishment in Moselle to have been labeled. The department is therefore very committed to sustainable and eco-responsible tourism with, in addition to Ecotable, 10 establishments with the Green Key label.
This sector therefore contributes to strengthening the tourist attractiveness of the Moselle which is explained by the quality of course but also by the wide offer which allows a great diversity of residences, rentals or campsites. Thanks to this dynamism, Moselle remains the second most touristy department after Alsace due to its frequentation of tourist accommodation with an occupancy rate of establishments which increased by 10% in December compared to last year. We can add to this the growing presence of German, Belgian and Dutch tourists.
According to Christophe Thiriet, president of the Union of Industrial and Hotel Trades of Moselle, “it is the tourism development strategy supported by Destination Moselle which is bearing fruit”. The particularity of the Moselle is the quality of the accommodation establishments it offers, notably with the Domaine de la Klauss hotel complex which has 5 stars and which was crowned “Best hotel bar in the world” during the Resort Awards. Thanks to its attraction, this sector contributes to the economic influence of Moselle since it employs more than 13,000 people, figures up compared to previous years which demonstrate a positive dynamic.

Rewarded Moselle viticulture
Since obtaining the AOC Moselle in 2011, local wines have gained notoriety. With 19 estates and 80 hectares exploited, production mainly focuses on organic white grape varieties. In 2024, three estates were rewarded at the Salon de l'Agriculture, reinforcing the quality image of these wines.
