At the beginning of the ceremonya troop of volunteers from the Meaux historical show “Folles époques” welcomed the inhabitants of Varreddes with a guard of honor. Then, it was up to Bernard Menil's ensemble to take the stage with various musical interpretations.
2024, a rich year in projects and action
At the end of this event, Francis Messant, mayor of Varreddes, was able to begin his wishes at Ravetons, with a preamble, the results of the past year: activation of the fire reserve, activation of electric charging stationsinauguration of vitality journey and the Pierre-Ménil park, nomination of the Espace des Jardins du Côteret, establishment of the bio-waste collection in the school restaurant and shared compost, grassing of the cemetery, development of zones 30beautification of Place Charles-de-Gaulle.
“Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, working together is a success,” said Henry Ford, “this phrase suits me completely,” added the city councilor.
We are not resting on our laurels in 2025
For 2025, Francis Messant aims to improve the living environment without losing sight of financial balance. The year 2025 will see the work of theextension of the town hallwith the aim of the inauguration on September 13, the repair of public lighting Moreau-Duchesne and Victor-Clairet streets, new video surveillance camerasrepair of sidewalks, renovation of the multipurpose roomthe layout of shared gardensand the creation of a special week to support local commerce.
-And then, we are working on the file of a medical center which requires a lot of attention and consultation, a priority file for our team.
The chief magistrate, however, showed his concern about thedeveloping a budget “when we do not know that of the State and the contributions paid to communities”.
Farewells from Olivier Morin, departmental advisor
At the end of Mayor Francis Messant's speech, it is the departmental councilor Olivier Morinin office for 21 years, who spoke: “On 1is March, I will leave my position as departmental advisor. I have tirelessly served this canton and the department of Seine-et-Marne with its 5,000 agents, 12 road agencies, 4,400 km of departmental roads, its 132 colleges and its inhabitants. My replacement will be the mayor of Saint-Soupplets, Stéphane Devauchellewho will be able to listen to you as much as I have been.”
The assembly then gathered around a glass of friendship and petits fours while talking about the good life in Raventon land.
