The holy month of Ramadan is expected in Morocco from Sunday March 2, 2025, according to astronomical calculations. However, as tradition dictates, this date must be confirmed by observing the lunar crescent.
In Morocco, the official announcement of the start of Ramadan is based on the naked eye observation of the lunar crescent. Supervised by the Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs, it marks the beginning of the ninth month of the Islamic calendar.
If the calculations predict an entry into force on March 2, 2025, confirmation will be given the day before, after the traditional day before the lunar observation.
-Time adjustments for Ramadan
As usual, Morocco will adopt GMT time one week before the start of Ramadan. This transition will take place on the night of Sunday February 23, 2025 at 3 a.m. After the end of the holy month, the Kingdom will return to GMT+1 time, in order to return to its usual time zone.
