five years in prison for a 66-year-old man who possessed millions of child pornography files

The Évry criminal court sentenced, this Tuesday, January 14, 2025, a 66-year-old man to five years in prison for having held three million child pornography files, the prosecution confirmed to AFP this Wednesday, January 15, 2025.

He had been operating for around thirty years

Incarcerated since Novemberthis man appeared for possession, distribution, recording or fixation and offering or making available the image of a minor presenting child pornography.

The acts for which he was tried were committed in Viry-ChâtillonVineuil-Saint-Firmin (Oise) and in Île-de-France, the oldest offenses dating back to September 2009 and the most recent to November 2024.

The sixty-year-old had been collecting the incriminating images for around thirty years, the prosecution said. He also created two sites hosting child pornography images and texts, confirmed this same source.

The defendant admitted to being a “pedophile”

The police have it arrested at his home in Oise in November, discovering during their search computers as well as hard drives and USB keys containing child pornography files.

According to The Parisianthis man, a married retiree with no children, admitted at the hearing to being “pedophile”but expressed no remorse in court. He was also sentenced to a permanent ban on contact with minors and to socio-judicial monitoring with a treatment order for ten years.
