: Soon 5 new green spaces in the capital

A breath of fresh air is blowing through , with the creation of 5 new green spaces in the capital during the year 2025.

To face the global warmingand while the World Health Organization recommends a minimum of 10 square meters of green spaces per inhabitant, the City of Paris announced the inauguration, by 2040, of 300 new hectares of green spaces in the capital.

Just in 2025these are not less than 5 new green spaces which will see the light of day (or which will be on the right track to appear) with, at the head of the queue, the new square of the Town Hall who is about to become a urban forest.   • The Town Hall square becomes an urban forest

The Town Hall Square will completely change its face,summer 2025with the creation of a urban forest of 90 trees and 20,000 plants. On the 2500 square meters soon to be vegetated, 1000 square meters will be planted in open ground. A way to refresh the neighborhood and fight against climate change in the city.

If the historic fountains will be preserved as will the unifying function of the square, the square will soon accommodate two wooded areas, a forest cover of shrubs and ferns, species of trees native to Île-de- (oaks, hornbeams ) as well as species that resist high heat (Julian hackberry, American honeylocust).

  • Place Saint-Gervais, future garden in memory of the victims of the attacks of November 13

A garden in tribute to the victims of the attacks of November 13, 2015 will be created in spring 2025on the place Saint-Gervais (4th district). With the support of victims' associations 13Onze15 Fraternity and Truth et Life for Parisce garden of memory will represent the different locations of the attacks, through a path dotted with memorial steles bearing the names of the victims.   • The Gabriel-Lamé space, in the Bercy district

A l’summer 2025the inhabitants of Bercy will be able to benefit from a new green space: theGabriel-Lamé space. It is an old schoolyard which will host this island of greeneryand relaxation area open to all. Many beds will be planted for this, as well as species capable of resisting the heat. A shared garden of 34m2 will also be fitted out for local residents, and benches will be installed throughout the garden.


  • The Laure-Albin-Guillot garden, at Porte d’Italie

On the Porte d’Italie side (13th arrondissement), in the ZAC Paul Bourgetthe Laure-Albin-Guillot garden will double in size second trimestre 2025to reach 9000m2. New paths will be created, the lime trees already present will be highlighted, and a new space hosting children's games, a shared garden, pétanque courts and board game areas will be created.


  • Suzanne-Lenglen Park, in the 15th arrondissement

The Suzanne-Lenglen Parkin the south of the 15th arrondissement, will undergo major changes throughout 2025, with a view to a enlargement.
