Yet spectacular, the operation took place out of sight, Monday January 13 and Tuesday January 14, 2025, in the heart of the Guerche business park, in Saint-Brevin-les-Pins (Loire-Atlantique).
On the land located between the Maugin and Halgand companies – two large employers in the area – a few elected officials from the community of municipalities were still able to observe the ballet of semi-trailers each transporting a modular space of the future inter-company crèche.
14 modules of 16 tonnes
14 modules of approximately 16 tonnesmanufactured in Côtes-d'Armor, were assembled by a huge crane on the earthworks previously carried out. Between each module installation, the technicians worked to prepare the connections according to a carefully repeated ritual.
This is the way of working of the cooperative society Les crèches de Al (formerly À l'abord'ages) which has set up and opened around twenty crèches of this type in around fifteen years, mainly in Brittany.
“The advantage of modular is the speed which allows us to respond to the demand of companies who want to finance places for their employees,” explains David Meunier, founder of the company.
In one year, we prepare the project, install the buildings and set up the service.
24 cradles including 9 for the CCSE
Each time, the operation is identical, in the form of a public/private partnership. “We are providing the investment (€1.30 million in total for the Brévinois project, with support of €540,000 from the CAF of Loire-Atlantique, Editor's note) and a real regional project. And what’s more, we’re Breton! “, smiles the entrepreneur.
On the 24 cradles what will the future crèche Les P'tits serpentins mean, nine are reserved for the community of communes for its employees or local residents. The other 15 will be accessible to companies depending on the demand of their employees.
Open Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Special feature of this crèche, it will be open to atypical hoursfrom 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Friday. “And potentially on Saturdays, if there are requests,” specifies Virginie Meunier, manager of the structure.
She will be open 52 weeks per yeartherefore in August and during the Christmas holidays when it is sometimes more complicated to find childcare.
For companies that struggle to recruit, this is a real plus because they can retain employees. And for the latter, it removes stress at work. They can find a childcare solution adapted to their schedules and professional constraints.”
Prices for a public nursery
A partnership between the crèche and the Temporary Work Social Action Fund will also allow temporary workers to quickly find a solution.
A word on prices. ” They are identical to those of a public nursery and take into account the family quotient and the composition of the household,” indicates Virginie Meunier.
Opening at the end of April 2025
Once the various network connection works and the interior and exterior fittings have been carried out, the 300 m crèche2will open Tuesday April 22, 2025the day after the Easter weekend.
It will initially welcome a dozen children and then gradually increase in strength.
The structure will employ up to nine employees : a childcare nurse in management, two educators of young children, childcare assistants and crèche workers, as well as a maintenance worker who will be responsible for preparing meals and cleaning the building. Recruitment is underway.
