SENEGAL-DIPLOMACY / Changes made at the head of several Senegalese embassies – Senegalese press agency

Dakar, Jan 15 (APS) – Senegal made changes on Wednesday at the head of several of its diplomatic representations, notably in , Russia, Algeria and some countries in the West African sub-region.

These changes were announced in the press release of the Council of Ministers held at the Palace of the Republic in the presence of the Head of State, Bassirou Diomaye Faye.

This is how Baye Moctar Diop, senior foreign affairs advisor of exceptional class, until then Senegal’s ambassador to Belgium, was appointed head of the Senegal embassy in France, replacing El Hadji Magatte Sèye.

Mr. Sèye, Senior Foreign Affairs Advisor, is appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Senegal to Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania. He replaces Birame Mbagnick Diagne.

For his part, Serigne Dièye, senior foreign affairs advisor, previously ambassador, chief of staff of the Minister of African Integration and Foreign Affairs, was appointed extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Senegal to Marcelo Rebelo De Sousa, President of the Republic Portuguese, replacing Fatoumata Binetou Rassoul Correa.

Mariame Sy, senior foreign affairs advisor, previously ambassador of Senegal to Spain, is appointed extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Senegal to Adama Barrow, president of the Republic of Gambia, replacing Bassirou Sène, admitted to assert his rights to a retirement pension;

Mbaba Coura Ndiaye, senior foreign affairs advisor, previously ambassador of Senegal to Burkina Faso, is appointed extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Senegal to Abdelmadjid TEBBOUNE, president of the Algerian Democratic and Popular Republic, replacing Serigne Dièye.

Amadou Ndéné Ndoye, senior foreign affairs advisor, until then minister-counsellor at the Senegalese embassy in New Delhi, is appointed extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Senegal to John Dramani Mahama, the president of the Republic of Ghana, in replacement of Aboubacar Sadikh Barry.

Stéphan Sylvain Sambou, Senior Foreign Affairs Advisor, previously Ambassador, Director Africa and African Union at the Ministry of African Integration and Foreign Affairs, is appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Senegal to Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, replacing General Jean-Baptiste Tine.

Ousmane Diop, senior foreign affairs advisor, previously ambassador, Director Asia, Pacific, Middle East at the Ministry of African Integration and Foreign Affairs, is appointed extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Senegal to Denis Sassou-Nguesso, president of the Republic of Congo, replacing Abou LO.

Djibril Fofana, Principal Chancellor of Foreign Affairs for his part inherits the post of Consul General of Senegal in Milan headed until then by Mamadou Lamine Diouf.
