The Amani association has a new office and a new president – Today Morocco

The Amani association is entering a new strategic phase, marked by the renewal of its office and the election of Yasmina Baddou as new president.

The Amani association held a meeting on Friday January 10 to present its new vision. The NGO is entering a new strategic phase, marked by the renewal of its office and a significant strengthening of its leadership. In this context, Yasmina Baddou was unanimously elected president. She succeeds Younes Slaoui, the founding president, who remains actively involved alongside the old and new members of the current office. This transition marks Amani’s commitment to continuing and amplifying its social impact for years to come. Since its creation in 2013, the association has worked to support children from disadvantaged backgrounds in their educational journey. The association’s mission is to offer these children the tools necessary for their autonomy, from a young age until their integration into the job market. It also pursues a broader objective: that of breaking the social isolation of children and their families by offering them quality education, cultural and sporting activities, as well as solidarity initiatives.

Accompaniement
Amani stands out for its holistic approach which combines education, culture and solidarity. The association selects children aged 6 to 15, on the basis of social, family and academic criteria, for educational projects which are sponsored. Children benefit from a range of educational programs tailored to their needs, including tutoring in essential subjects such as science, mathematics, French and English. Included are educational workshops addressing essential topics such as citizenship, individual freedoms, human rights, gender equality and solidarity. Cultural and sporting activities are also planned as well as discovery classes and field trips. These activities take place within Amani Campus Space.

Partnership
In addition to its action in Casablanca, Amani established a partnership in 2017 with the Akhiam association. An NGO which operates in the Imilchil region, mainly among girls, through a literacy program, educational, social and psychological support and accompaniment for low-level students. It also equips libraries and multimedia rooms. Its main objective is to fight against rural girls dropping out of school. This partnership is being renewed from January 2025, in order to strengthen the creation of models of success and social advancement, to contribute to the fight against the isolation of disadvantaged families, child labor and school dropouts and to overcome the conditioning leading to failure and self-censorship through access to relevant information, mentoring and the culture of exemplarity.
