With very low temperatures several nights in a row, the State is releasing resources to protect poor people.
The thermometer reached -5 degrees the previous night, it was barely above zero in the early morning this Wednesday, January 15… And we don't expect any cooling in the short term: the cold is here this week in the Eure. The prefecture announced triggering its vigilance plan “very cold”. It is about mobilizing 277 accommodation places throughout the department, aimed at homeless people.
A “civic mobilization” requested
The Eure prefecture calls on everyone to take part in the mobilization: we are invited to pay attention to possible vulnerable people around us in these winter weather conditions. The press release from the State services asks Eurois to “report anyone in distress in a public space”. To do this, you must contact 115, the social emergency number.
