Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA, spoke about the 2025 edition of the U17 Women’s World Cup, the first with 24 teams, and which will be held in Morocco.
«Morocco, the land of football, will host the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup from October 17 to November 8, 2025. It will be a fantastic opportunity for young players to shine on the FIFA international stage.», Wrote the FIFA boss on his Instagram account.
The international body led by Gianni Infantino designated Morocco in March 2024 as the organizing country for the next five editions of the U17 Women’s World Cup.
Expanded to 24 participants, the competition will be held annually from the 2025 edition. The Kingdom will therefore organize the World Cup in the category between 2025 and 2029, thus becoming the first African country to host it.
The U17 Women’s World Cup is its 9th edition. The competition began in 2008 in New Zealand. In 2010 it took place in Trinidad and Tobago, then respectively in Azerbaijan in 2012, in Costa Rica in 2014, in Jordan in 2016, in Uruguay in 2018, in 2022 in India and finally, in 2024 in the Dominican Republic.
