In February, Van Cleef & Arpels will extend the fourth edition of its “Hands in Hands” event with a new initiative announced in Clermont-Ferrand. With the aim of stimulating vocations in a jewelry sector in search of talent.
Discovering jewelry know-how
Double blow for Van Cleef & Arpels. After a stop in Lyon last November, its “Hands in Hands” operation will take up residence for the first time at the Comédie de Clermont-Ferrand, from February 12 to 16, 2025.
Launched in 2021, the event is aimed at young people and adults undergoing professional retraining with the aim of introducing people to the different jewelry professions, existing training and career opportunities in the sector.
On site, visitors will be able to interact with craftsmen from the Ateliers Van Cleef & Arpels (Richemont group) and become familiar with the main stages in the creation of a piece: drawing, selection and cutting of stones, making of the jewel, setting , polishing… Also on the program are meetings with the House’s Human Resources team, conferences and round tables supported in particular by the École des Arts Joailliers.
-While this event complements a mentoring program offered throughout the year by Van Cleef & Arpels to middle and high school students enrolled in partner establishments, “from Hands to Hands” will also open its doors to the general public during the weekend to present demonstrations of know-how.
The initiative will also give rise to an exhibition, accessible by reservation. Baptized “Van Cleef & Arpels, discovering jewelry”the latter will return to the history of the label through its creations, including the collection Alhambraone of the most coveted on the second-hand jewelry market.
The establishment of this event in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes is strategic in terms of recruitment while Van Cleef & Arpels has a workshop in Lyon and is consolidating its presence at the regional level with new factories in Romans-sur- Isère (Drôme) and in the village of Dorat (Puy-de-Dôme).
