#Toulouse / Castres – It took almost four hours of hearing on Monday January 13, 2025 at the Toulouse administrative court so that all the actors could express themselves. On December 16, 2024, 14 associations filed an interim suspension before the Toulouse court. They demand the suspension of work on the A69 motorway (Toulouse-Castres) until a decision on the merits is rendered in February 2025. For or against, everyone has presented their arguments. #OCCITANIA – This is the number of high school students from Occitanie who will participate in an educational trip to Auschwitz, this Wednesday January 15 and Thursday January 16, 2025. These trips are part of the 80 years of liberation of the camps and educational work around the history of the Shoah carried out throughout the year by students and their teachers. A joint restitution of this work will be organized in May 2025 at the Rivesaltes Memorial (Pyrénées-Orientales), which celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2025.
François, schizophrenic, died in hospital: his mother denounces
#Montpellier – “He had no serious pathology. He could have been saved”says Deborah Monaco straight away, referring to the death of her son François at the age of 40 at Montpellier University Hospital, in November 2023. She denounces “differentiated care between people suffering from psychological disorders and others”. Her son, schizophrenic, is hospitalized following abdominal pain, diarrhea and blood in the urine. Analyzes reveal kidney failure and heart problems. After trips to the emergency room at Montpellier University Hospital, “my son was screaming in pain and the only treatment was to give him Valium to calm him down, because he was schizophrenic”. François then falls into a coma and dies three weeks later. Today, his mother contacted the Commission for Conciliation and Compensation for Medical Accidents.
Supporting the poorly housed
#DRAWS – Launched in 2019 by the state, the “Émile” program is aimed at people experiencing poor housing in Île-de-France, and more recently in Lyon. In Lozère, Laëtitia Plo and Frédéric Salvetti, employees of the Aurore association, are the actors of this program. They support candidates in settling in: diagnosis, proposals, immersion, employment, new accommodation and moving. On average, candidates are settled after six months. After installation, the two employees follow the new Lozériens. “It’s not always easy, especially for single people. We are their only reference point. A tour of France of medical deserts
#MILLAU – Anaïs Werestchack, a newly qualified doctor, embarked on an unusual tour of France, that of medical deserts. With her partner, Brice Philippon, physiotherapist, aboard a converted van, the couple made a stopover in South Aveyron . Stop which inspired Anaïs Werestchack who took up her pen to write an open letter to the National Assembly where she describes what she saw during her visit to South Aveyron. “If I write to you, it is in the hope of making my words heard, to those who, comfortably installed in the Assembly, make decisions concerning us, doctors, actors of a healthcare system in danger […] Until a few years ago, six doctors covered this territory of 652 square kilometers, with more than 6,000 inhabitants, but today, I am alone, replacing for 15 days, a doctor who should already be retired.” Relayed in a video on social networks, Anaïs Werestchack's speech has been seen nearly 200,000 times.
