The regional delegation of the High Commission for former resistance fighters and former members of the liberation army (HCAR) in Marrakech-Safi organized a ceremony on Friday to commemorate the 81st anniversary of the presentation of the Independence Manifesto.

This meeting was an opportunity to remember with pride this national epic, a true historical milestone in the struggle for independence, while paying tribute to the men and women of the national movement, the resistance and the liberation army, as well as their glorious victories which contributed to liberating the Kingdom from the colonial yoke and preserving its sovereignty.

Speaking on this occasion, the regional delegate of the HCAR, Lahcen Benyahia, underlined that the presentation of the Independence Manifesto marked a historic turning point in the fight for the recovery of freedom and independence, noting that this national event represents the culmination of a succession of historical episodes and crucial stages in the fight against colonialism.

Mr. Benyahia also highlighted the progress and the process of development and modernization, as well as the economic growth that Morocco is experiencing, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, noting, in this sense, the efforts deployed to strengthen the rule of law and improve the economic, social and human capacities of the Kingdom, within a framework of cohesion and solidarity between the various components of Moroccan society.

For his part, the representative of the Local Council of Ulemas of Marrakech, Amine Enkira, indicated that the commemoration of this event constitutes an opportunity to highlight the fundamental role of the Institution of Imarat Al Mouminine in the preservation of unity of the nation and in the conduct of the Moroccan people throughout their struggle against the colonizer.

Mr. Enkira further noted that this historic event also offers the opportunity to highlight the importance and role of national unity in consolidating cohesion between the different components of society, which resulted in the presentation of the Independence Manifesto, thus reflecting the unwavering attachment of Moroccans to their religious and national constants.

Furthermore, this meeting was punctuated by a series of interventions and activities, including presentations presented by students, with the main objective of allowing future generations to learn the necessary lessons from this historic event.
