Riding on the good performance of Moroccan tourism, the African hotel group Azalaï plans to set up in the Kingdom, with an initial portfolio of five establishments by 2030.

The group, whose head office is in the Malian capital Bamako, is aiming for a total capacity of 600 beds, its president and founder, Mossadeck Bally, confided in a statement to the specialized Arabic-language site Asharq, which focuses on the sustained dynamic of the national tourism sector.

“If we build these hotels, it will require an investment of more than 70 million dollars (…) But, if we take over existing hotels, while renovating them, the cost will be lower,” explained Mr. Bally, moreover. head of Malian employers.

The leading hotel group in West Africa, Azalaï currently has 11 establishments in eight countries on the continent. Its portfolio must increase to 15 hotels with a capacity of more than 1,700 lis with the upcoming opening of new units, particularly in Mauritania.

By welcoming 17.4 million visitors in 2024, Marc has become the leading tourist destination on the African continent, ahead of Egypt (15.7 million).
