Monday January 6, 2025, Epiphany Day, the competition for the best almond pancake and Charentes-Poitou AOP butter for New Aquitaine took place in Mont-de-Marsan. Organized at the Auberge Landaise by the Bakery and Pastry Federation, it brought together 26 seasoned candidates.
But the king of the day was Nathan Dusserey, 18, who obtained 1is price. Enough to add a little more to the wall of trophies at the Pachena bakery and pastry shop in Pissos. An employee of the family business, he has been producing great performances for some time now (vice-champion of France at the 2024 Chocolate and Pastry Show, in November in Vannes).
As he asserted himself more and more in the profession of lathe (preparing and manufacturing dough for pastries, tarts, cakes and savory foods), he really acquired a taste for competition. Loving his job, he likes to compete with other professionals, young or more experienced, in the stimulating and sometimes stressful meetings organized by those in charge of the bakery and pastry shop.
