On Saturday January 11, 2025, in Jeddah, General Mamadou Gaye, General Delegate for Pilgrimage to the Holy Places of Islam, signed the memorandum of understanding for Hajj 2025 with Abdel Fattah Bin Souleymane Mushât, Saudi Deputy Minister of Hajj and of ‘Umrah. This document, fundamental for the proper organization of the pilgrimage, incorporates the new instructions and provisions aimed at improving the reception and support of Senegalese pilgrims in the Holy Land.

This signature marks a key step in the preparation of Hajj 2025, allowing the Senegalese mission to better fulfill its role. The protocol addresses crucial aspects such as quotas, health measures, housing management, as well as means of transport. These agreements aim to offer Senegalese pilgrims optimal conditions, in compliance with new Saudi regulations. General Mamadou Gaye, accompanied by his two deputies, also participated in the annual exhibition and conference on Hajj and ‘Umra, organized by the Saudi ministry. These events provide a platform for exchange and strengthening collaborations between participating countries and Saudi Arabia, in a spirit of modernization and efficiency for this central pillar of Islam. With this initiative, the Senegalese authorities reiterate their commitment to supporting the faithful in their spiritual journey, by consolidating the quality of services and strengthening their collaboration with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
